PoolCop Automated Pool Management System

The PoolCop APMS is a micro-controlled, condition based pool management system.

The PoolCop APMS basic kit includes :

  • a central processing unit with display,
  • an automatic filtration system,
  • a water condition monitor, pH detection,
  • up to 8 auxiliary timers,
  • power supply unit with battery back-up.

The PoolCop APMS Elite includes :

  • All of the above, plus
  • water sanitation systems (Salt or Acid Chlorination and/or Copper Ionisation),
  • a water level regulator,
  • a remote manager with all operational functions,

The Product : Intelligent Pool Control

The PoolCop APMS control system is uniquely housed in ONE COMPACT UNIT that can automatically regulate:

  • filter, backwash and rinse cycles of the filtering system,
  • detection of pH values,
  • detection of water temperature,
  • pool water sanitation, ie: chemical addition based on pH values and water temperature,
  • regulation of pool and garden lights,
  • water level detection and water addition,
  • filtration time.

In other words: The PoolCop APMS has the intelligence to assess the need for and to regulate pool management and sanitation functions .

The filtration system manager is essentially a replacement for the 1.5” and 2 “ manual multi-port valve selector found in traditional swimming pool filtration systems. We simply remove the handle off the manual valve and replacement it with an automated motorised valve that automatically controls the flow of water through the filtration system of a swimming pool. The entire control system has been developed around this automated valve.

Gas Chlorination

Pure chlorine gas obtained from HCl (HydroChloric Acid or pool acid) is deposited into the pool water in very small doses. Should the PoolCop APMS detect a high pH reading, the dosage will automatically be increased. This serves to lower the pH to acceptable levels, as well as constantly assisting with water sanitation.

The remote management system is a duplication of the user interface which is linked to the central system via a set of communication cables or cordless device.

A sensor detects the water level of the swimming pool and corrects the level by adding fresh water using a low voltage electrical solenoid valve.

The water condition monitor (ph electrode and temperature sensor) measures the pH levels and temperature of the pool water in the main base of the multi-port valve. This data is relayed to the central processing unit which causes the system to react on the information. pH measurement = (6 - 9 parts Hydrogen) Temperature = 0 to 70 ° C

Copper Ionisation

Copper ions are released into the water through the circulation process, effectively killing bacteria and algae (black as well as green). This natural and safe purifying process minimizes the use of harmful chemicals. The dosing quantity is controlled by the temperature readings of the PoolCop APMS.

In conjunction with the gas chlorinator, this method has proved most effective

Salt Chlorination By passing a salt (sodium chloride) solution through an electrolytic cell, chlorine gas is created which, when dissolved in water becomes sodium hypochloride (liquid chlorine). You are producing your own chlorine to sanitise your pool.
